What inspired you to be involved with passionfruit?
I have always enjoyed crafting and making items with various mediums, and I often search for ways to include crafts with design projects. When the idea for passionfruit was coming together I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity to be a part of this group that combines so much of what I am passionate about.
As a platform, what do you believe passionfruit provides to design students?
Passionfruit is a way to expand our creativity to new mediums while taking advantage of our last few months together as a cohort. The skills and knowledge we have gained from the UW Design program will stick with us forever, and passionfruit is building on that by providing an opportunity for design students to use their education in ways they haven't yet explored.
How have you stayed creatively motivated during social isolation?
I've enjoyed taking this time to find new sources of inspiration. Online resources will continue to be useful, but there is a lot to be said for spending this time outside or away from a screen. I have also been very inspired and motivated by the work of my peers and staying connected with them, despite being farther apart.
